Konflik dan Kekerasan di Media Sosial: Kajian Pemikiran Axel Honneth.

Kemunculan dan perkembangan media sosial telah menghadirkan komunitas masyarakat berbasis virtual. Melalui media sosial, interaksi dalam masyarakat modern tidak lagi bersifat lokal dan provinsial. Kehadiran media sosial menarik masyarakat modern ke dalam bentuk interaksi tanpa ruang dan batas fisikal. Dapat dikatakan bahwa media sosial telah menjadi candu bagi masyarakat di era modern. Pada perkembangannya, media sosial tidak hanya menjadi wadah interaksi masyarakat modern. Media sosial telah berevolusi menjadi ruang bagi individu maupun komunitas untuk mengaktualisasikan eksistensinya di tengah masyarakat. Dengan kata lain, media sosial telah digunakan sebagai tempat bagi manusia untuk merasa diakui, dihargai bahkan dicintai. Akan tetapi, pencarian akan validasi dari masyarakat melalui media sosial tak jarang berujung pada konflik. Tatkala masyarakat mencari pengakuan eksistensial melalui media sosial justru yang didapatkan adalah komentar negatif, ujaran kebencian, diskriminasi bahkan ancaman. Pada gilirannya hal ini berujung pada konflik dan kekerasan dalam media sosial. Melalui teori pengakuan Axel Honneth, artikel ini berupaya menganalisis akar konflik dan kekerasan yang terjadi dalam media sosial. Dengan menyelami dan menjelajahi pemikiran Axel Honneth, artikel ini dapat memberikan paradigma alternatif dalam menyikapi konflik dan kekerasan yang terjadi dalam media sosial.
